LOCATION AND HISTORY OF CLUB
Leo Club of Mitchelton High State High School meets at the Mitchelton State High School.
The club was chartered on the 6th of December 1995, The sponsoring club is Brisbane Bunya Inc.
The membership has fluctuated up to 52 members at one time but mostly stands at 20/30 with the year 12 members leaving annually but a strong recruiting from the year 8 students each year has helped to keep the club strong and active.
The club was awarded a District Leo club of the year in 1996/97 and again in 1998/99.
The inaugural president was the District Leo of the year in 1996/97
Mrs. Donna Hedges, Deputy Principal at the school is the Leo advisor, and Mr. Ian Dunsdon is the club Leo advisor. Both are members of the Lions Club of Brisbane Bunya
Lionswap
the ISP provider for Lions Web Sites has been set-up by the Lions of
Turkey (MD118). Work on the programmes/script used to compile Web
Pages has been the work of Dr. Enzar Tore of the Canakkale Lions, also
of Turkey. The Leos Club of Mitchelton State High School consequently displays the
national flag of TURKEY on their site as a sign of appreciation of
their work/efforts.
